I have enjoyed worked in the counseling profession since 2009 when I began my career working with youth and their families in Grimes County, Texas. So far in my career I have worked in nonprofit, private, and education settings in Texas, Idaho, Colorado, and Montana. In my time across these states, I have worked in a variety of communities ranging from rural areas to densely populated cities. My experience has provided me with diverse experiences that inform my current practice as a mental health professional. Currently, I own and operate a small private practice, Congruence Mental Health, and work full-time faculty member at a university. As a faculty member, I teach and supervise graduate student counselors in training, and I am the director of a mental health counseling training clinic. In my private practice, I offer mental health counseling, supervision, and consultation.
I have a bachelor's degree from Texas A&M University where I majored in Psychology and a minored in Neuroscience, master's degree from Texas State University where I majored in Community Counseling, and a doctorate degree from Idaho State University where I majored in Counselor Education and Counseling. I have continued adding to my education by engaging in trainings as well as self-guided learning on a regular basis. I also teach in a training setting which provides me regular opportunities to revisit foundational elements of the counseling profession.

I have worked as a mental health counselor supervisor in a variety of settings since 2014. Currently, I offer supervision for counselors in training as well as those who have completed their master's degree and are working on their counseling license in Montana. I do not provide employment with Congruence Mental Health. Instead, I will work with you to provide supervision in lieu of employer provided supervision or until employer provided supervision is available.
I provide supervision as a contractor for organizations/employers interested in hosting a counseling practicum or internship student working to complete their master's degree. I am the best fit for organizations who are interested in adding counseling services to their offerings, but are not yet able to offer supervision. I will develop the structures necessary to meet all requirements to host a practicum or internship counseling student.
Counseling Licensure Candidates
Those working towards their counseling license and organizations employing pre-licensed counselors are welcome to contact me to inquire about supervision. I will contract with organizations/employers to provide supervision when there is not a qualified supervisor in the organization who is available to provide supervision. In these instances, I require the supervisee is employed by the organization/employer and that all legal requirements of the employment are being met.
I am happy to talk with you about any consultation or training needs you have. In my time working in mental health, I have worked in a variety of settings that have contributed to the knowledge and skills I utilize in consultation. I am best prepared to consult with those interested in discussing work with counselors in training in academic and clinical settings. This is especially the case for those working in or interested in creating a training clinic for mental health counseling graduate students.
Training clinics provide incredible learning opportunities for counselors in training and require specialized skills to operate effectively. I have worked in training clinics across 4 states since 2012. Since 2017, I have served as the director training clinics across 2 states which has required me to develop a variety or knowledge and skills to attend to a wide range of mental health, institutional, societal, administrative, and staffing needs. Directing a training clinic is a unique role and often presents unique challenges. Feel free to reach out if you would like to discuss your training clinic needs and/or would like to discuss how you can create a training clinic in your university or community.
Supervising Counselors in Training
Supervising counselors in training is rewarding and requires attention to varying clinical, developmental, cultural, and personal needs of the supervisee. I have been working with counselors in training since 2014 in universities in Idaho, Colorado, and Montana. As a faculty member, I have provided group, triadic, and individual supervision for practicum and internship students. As a training clinic director, I am the site supervisor for counselors in training overseeing their clinical and administrative duties. I am happy to talk with you about your supervision experiences and needs in a consultation meeting.
Working with students is incredibly rewarding and requires regular attention to teaching skills. Since 2014, I have taught a variety of graduate and undergraduate courses as well as facilitated trainings with mental health professionals. I am happy to discuss any topics related to teaching. That said, I can be most helpful in the following course areas in which I have the most direct teaching experience: foundational counseling skills, internship, practicum, family counseling, group counseling, counseling theories, and professional issues. I enjoy teaching and am happy to schedule a time to talk with your teaching needs and experiences.
